Experiments in HDR (high dynamic range) Photography and Tone Mapping
| Series #1 Taken 2/9/07 at San Lorenzo Canyon north of Polvadera, NM. |
This series of images
was taken
with the camera in aperture priority mode. The camera is set to take a
series of three images, commensurate with a two EV difference bracketing. You
need to have a very steady hand if you don't use I tripod; I don't, so most
were taken with a tripod! I've
included the 'properly' exposed image in all cases as a comparison to the hdr tone mapped image. After creating the hdr tone mapped image in Photmatix, I took the image into Photoshop and continued processing. In general I adjusted the levels, saturation and color balance on all images. I also selectively used dodge and burn tools as well as local saturation and sharpening. |
