II Telescope
  • The ECO robotic telescope is a 14 inch f/11 Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector  with a focal length of  3911.6 mm;
    A focal reducer is generally used yielding a focal length of 1955.8 mm  at f/5.5
  • The telescope is mounted on a Bisque Paramount (equatorial mount)
  • The telescope is computer controlled using Software Bisque's TheSky
  • Telescope altitude limit is about 20°
  • Maximum accurate tracking time is between 3-4 minutes (autoguiding can be used for longer exposured)
III Imaging System
  • The SBIG ST-8e CCD camera is attached to the telescope at the Cassegrain focus
  • ST-8e imager is 1530 by 1020 with 0.009 micron pixels
  • Image Scale: FOV 24 x 16, ~ 1 arcsecond per pixel (with focal reducer)
  • 2x2 and 3x3 binning modes
  • Limiting magnitude is about 18 V
  • The camera can be equipped with Cousins BVRI science filters
  • A flat field screen is available
